Poptropica Wiki is the world's first Poptropica fansite, and the largest Poptropica information database. With over 700 articles covering everything from characters to items, this comprehensive wiki has info on nearly anything you would ever need to know about Poptropica. Poptropica Wiki is a facet of the Poptropica Help Network.
Poptropica Wiki was founded on June 11th, 2008 by user Jakeejakee, and thus being the first ever Poptropica fansite. The wiki was created (and purpose is still today) for the online virtual world, Poptropica. Jakeejakee only made a few edits before going inactive, and soon the wiki was adopted by Greennave. Eventually, Bob Bricks took action after a few more adoptions and hired a handful of new staff members, of which created the basis for the wiki and contributed the majority of content the wiki has now.
Years later, the Poptropica Help Blog created their own wiki, entitled the Poptropica Help Wiki. The current chairman, AwesomeOrange88, decided to contact the PHB and ask about a partnership between the wiki and the blog. After some consideration, the blog accepted, and formed the ultimate Poptropica fan network, the Poptropica Help Network.
Timeline of Important Events
- June 11, 2008: The user, Jakeejakee, founds Poptropica Wiki, creating the first ever Poptropica blog/fansite/walkthrough site.
- March 10, 2009: The user, Greennave, adopts Poptropica Wiki and soon hires Love Monkey 32 to help him/her.
- August 21, 2010: The user, Lifti332, adopts Poptropica Wiki and soon hires InSpeck to help him/her.
- August 6, 2012: The user Bob Bricks, adopts Poptropica Wiki and soon hires Superdadsuper, NBerkhof, DeeBradleyBakerFan to help him.
- October 7, 2012: MalachiBoaz, one of Poptropica Wiki's biggest vandals, is banned permanently. Soon enough Bob Bricks steps down as Chairman and NBerkhof becomes the new chairman, with Superdadsuper as his Vice Chairman. DaranNorrisFan6 (now Ultimate iPad Expert) joins the admins.
- Throughout 2012 and 2013: New admins join Poptropica Wiki staff. These users include: Legofan100, Rough Fang, Pikachu4807, and Godzilla2014andnext.
- April 9, 2013: Ultimate iPad Expert becomes the new Vice Chairman. Pikachu4807 soon earns the title of Cheif Vandalism Remover.
- December 27, 2013: NBerkhof retires from Chairman and election is held. Meanwhile, inactive admins, Akamichi and Director D., return to the wiki. Ultimate iPad Expert soon becomes the new Chairman, and Pikachu4807 soon becomes the Vice Chairman. After the election, new admins, EmperorAguila and SwagNoodle809, are hired.
- April 30, 2014: Ultimate iPad Expert is removed from office due to inactivity. Bob Bricks becomes the Chairman for a second time, with the pervious Vice Chairman continuing her term.
- June 2014 through January 2015: Long period of inactivity of most administrators; users TronX7 and Ultimate iPad Expert manage the Wiki.
- January 20, 2015: AwesomeOrange89 is promoted Chairman with Ultimate iPad Expert being promoted Vice Chairman. TronX7 is promoted Chief Vandalism Remover.
- January 25, 2015: Bob Bricks is considered corrupt due to long periods of inactivity; a trial is held to discuss removal of administrative rights for Bob. Bob Bricks is considered corrupt and his rights are removed.
